Some pics from our new digs from high atop the (waay waay) west side
Our living room / dining room.. most of the furniture looks like it came from a bachelor pad.. cuz it did.. most of this stuff is from my old studio before we got married… it will be a long slow process of getting real adult furniture, but the LaZ Bay will never be gone.. neither will the cat tree….
Our dining room.. I actually get up early and eat breakfast at home now in the morning so I can look out the window… the telescope was a housewarming gift from our broker.. very cool .. I can see the entrance to the subway stop.. along with other things…*ahem*….(not really.. haven’t seen anything cool at all)
Our river view from the dining room, we can see the kayakers every weekend..and we mourn the moving of the Science Barge
Kitchen..smaller than the old one.. but so much more functional
My new pride and joy… 60 inch plasma, 1080i…. it is sitting on top of my old coffee table until the media cabinet we ordered arrives in a few months… just got an HD DVD player… awesome.. still need to upgarde the receiver since my old one doesn’t take HDMI inputs…
The new neighborhood is a lot different… since we are right along Riverside Park.. there is very little foot traffic from anyone other than residents of the area.. and the area is ruled by the UWS Baby Mafia.. if you aren’t pushing a Bugaboo or a McLaren… you are in the wrong zip code.. but we have a great supermarket across the street and a dry cleaner in the building.. so we have the vitals… and being able to go to bed without hearing garbage trucks.. (and smelling in them in the summer) has been a great thing… and while we loved the doormen at our old building.. they don’t rank in the same league as the staff at the new building…
Moving was a lot of work.. but we are most of the way unpacked.. the boxes that are still here simply have no where to be emptied into until we receive and order more furniture.. but for now.. we are all settled in and can operate out of this place with no problems…the first week was tough with no TV, cable or internet… outside of unpacking.. I was reduced to watching DVD’s on the laptop…
We had our first overnight guest this weekend.. and are expecting another in two weeks.. and we invested in an AeroBed.. those things are comfy… we got the raised one and it feels like a decent regular bed… much better than than the hand me down mattress the wife was using when I first met her… and just right so when my parents come to visit.. they will be comfortable.. but not too comfortable…
